About
Everyday, I am inspired by the beauty of the world around me, whether it is a breathtaking winter sunset, the grace of a cow moose as she trots across the field in front of our home in Barrhead County, or the sumptuous colors in my summer flower beds. I love to paint, and I see the world through an artistic filter of light, color and composition. In my opinion, it is hard to improve on the work of mother nature, so I focus on realistically capturing nature's magnificence, just as I see it. Perhaps an impossibility, but I feel compelled to try.

My roots are deeply established in Alberta, and I have always been an outdoors person. I grew up on a farm south of Beaverlodge, Alberta. My undergraduate degree is a B.Sc. in Forestry. I spent a couple decades working in the boreal forests of western Canada, before obtaining two additional degrees (MA in Environmental Sustainability and Ph.D. in Strategic Forsight) and undertaking other careers. Through it all, I had zero time for art, but I guess deep down I was always an artist.

In 2020, with life disrupted by the pandemic, I decided I was going to make art my new career. It was like finding a long-lost friend. Since that time, I have studied art, taken workshops, mentored with accomplished artists, and painted every day I can. I continually work at developing my artistic knowledge and skills. This is the most fulfilling work I have ever done. It brings me joy and I hope my paintings bring you joy as well.
